Saddam was a ruthless dictator. Anyone who opposed him was tortured, imprisoned and/or executed. The Iraqi's were too scared to even think about a rebellion.

To have an idea on how extreme his regime was, read this article about these Iraqi soccer players.

I wholeheartedly agree. Saddam was an evil man who got what was coming to him.

However, what about all of the other ruthless dictators who we do nothing about or, on numerous occasions since the end of the second world war, even support? We can't have it both ways.

I'm glad the Iraqis once again have control over their own destiny, but I just think the billions of this nation's money sent over there is better spent here for our own needs (or, of course, hunting down Bin Laden!).

Maybe (likely) I'm just selfish.
