i cant say that i'm lonely right now..but i do know that i've been very lonely even when i had all the things you talked about ...a boyfriend, family, friends...

right now i live really far from family and dont really have any friends besides my boyfriend..who lives far as well. So technically I should be more lonely than times when I lived closer to what i had...but guess what? i'm not.

loneliness is tricky... it's about what's going on inside you.. and how much you feel connected to others...
I can live and sleep next to a person and still get the feeling that if i were to jump on a plane and go to Iceland that person wouldnt even notice..and THAT can make you feel lonely.

Good relationships do cure lonliness, but bad one's simply add fuel to fire. So when someone complains that they have kids and are lonely ...yes they may be a step ahead of those who feel that they have noone..because instead of forming relationships their job is to fix the relationships that they have.

But you cant be too hard on them without being too hard on yourself... because it's had to fix relationships...just as hard (and even harder sometimes) than starting them.

I recently read this "funny" line printed on a T-shirt: "I'm not 50, I'm 18 with 32 years of experience!".
Well, then, I'm not 38, I'm 18 with 20 years of experience.Bad experience that is....
20 years that I've never had a proper relationship. I've never heard anyone say "I love you" to me, never felt a man cared for me. I manage pretty well on my own, as far as the practical issues of everyday life go. I don't need a man to "take care" of me. But I need someone to love and be loved by. But I've given up hope. I know I've searched high and low (literally, it feels!) and I've come up empty. I'm destined and doomed to live and die alone.
