So this is how I found this site. I am glad I did.
I'm guessing this will be erased once my account gets verified so if this gets repeated in the introduction thread.. that is why.
I just want to get this out. I am an insomniac, have been for much of my life. The internet becoming popular since the '90s has eased my time spent being bored. However, I still am unable to break from insomnia. It's an endless cycle.
I like the internet because I can search for anything I want. I don't like the internet because I am searching for something to occupy my time when I am wide awake and the world around me is sound asleep.
I used to be in Yahoo chatrooms constantly but as I have gotten older and the incidents of spambots have gotten higher, I no longer frequent any "people-populated" places. I would rather search out things than people to talk to. I'm not sure why but the internet has made my shyness and introvertness worse.
I want to reach out to so many people and yet, I feel as though I can't. I don't know what is stopping me but things on the internet are easier to deal with than people are (whether in real life or online).
I do have friends that I hang out with and friends online that I exchange emails with from the "old days" but I just don't care much for the social interaction most days. It scares me. I'm afraid to be alone but I'm even more afraid to talk to people and make friends.
Thank you for listening. |

Thanks to the mods for moving this over to "New Members" thread.
I don't remember how I got to googling "I am lonely" last night but I did. I think I was somewhere else and the site that I was on mentioned that "at one time, 'I am lonely' googled brought up someone's post about being alone" on a different site than aLL. I suppose that someone then went on to create this site. I'm not sure, I was pretty far into my insomnia last night and I tend to lose track of memories when that happens.
Anyhow, I just thought of something interesting... and wondering if it was done on purpose.. but when you abbreviate A Lonely Life's name... you get ALL. My take on this? At some point in life, *all* of us have felt lonely.
Just something to think about.... I'm actually tired tonight so I hope to hop into bed and be asleep in 30 mins (I live in eastern standard time zone). If not... well.. I'll be back on and reading the rest of the threads I didn't get to last night. I'd like to get a sense of my surroundings before I dive in. |

Yea my Guss is that you ended up at another forum from where this one was created lol. that's just the one thread there in a big sight if its the same one. where as this place is all set out for us and every thread and post here is for us
But ye basically its the Google that Burt me here as well buy putting them words I am lonely in to Google all be it I got stuck at the other place for about a year fist lol It can be a pretty addictive sight btw.
And ye I don't think the name was done like that on purpose ALL through it might have been but I agree with what your saying in that I do think every human being on the face of the planet has felt lonely be for. Its a human emotion that I think all do understand. Its just to what degree the individual has felt that horrible horrible emotion.
I hope your insomnia don't play you up to night and you sleep well. |

That sucks. I don't normally have problems sleeping. But sometimes if I have tea are coffee after a certain time in the day I don't sleep at all. The next day I would feel crap cos I have not seeped then I would end up sleeping in the day and again well not be able to sleep at night. Its bad when you can not sleep and something am very grateful for that its a problem I don't have all the time. |

I've always had a hard time going to sleep. I hate it but at least it could be worse. It could be the other way around...always being asleep wouldn't be too fun, and much lonelier |

I feel the same, the internet will all its information and things to access has left me worse for wear in life, there have been days spent looking up links to links about things I dont care to really know and information that will never be of any use....but Im sucked into looking it up regardless, if humanity could break free from its hold on technology life would be better.....but then again we wouldnt have such a readily available forum to meet others like ourselves....life is a game that we are forced to play and have no chance of beating.
