We all have made mistakes throughout our journey through life. In that area you are not alone. We may have hurt those that we love. Maybe they will fogive us, maybe they will not. In ones own heart, that is never a goal that is lost.
One can always find peace if one has the desperation to seek it within oneself.

It seems you have at least come to term with the concept that you are not perfect.
Learn to accept it and then understand that it isnt even bad.
Nobody is perfect, Nothing is perfect.
Infact evolution and the human genome are highly flawed - look at genetic mutation for example.

To have bad aspects is a good thing, to understand and accept it is a truly admirable thing.
But to dwell upon it only holds you down.
