I've only been here a few days and I'm amazed at how many people are in the same boat as me. I'm not sure how we can be lonely with so many people in the same place looking for the same thing. We should start a motorcycle gang. :)

My problem with friends is that I go from "Hi, how're you doin'" to "What do you think the meaning of life is". I think that scares people. I haven't gained a friend yet with that line. :)

We're a lot of lonely people. I can relate as well. I haven't felt true warmth from another person in a very long time. Thinking about romantic hugs makes me tear up a little. :(

That's exactly how I feel sometimes. Is my gift good enough. What I tend to do is purchase a gift that is inappropriately expensive just to make sure it's gift worthy. Ugh. I can tell myself that it doesn't matter what people think, but the mind is hard to convince.

Social phobias are irrational. That's the nature of the beast. It's not that I can't think of a gift. That's not the issue. It's the act of giving a gift and the anticipation of the event that creates anxiety.
