Please read carefully, I am trying to find answers to particular question:

How much do you prefer attractivity of face compared to body and vice versa. Let us assume 2 examples: a) a man with average face and perfect body vs. b) a man with attractive face but average body. For instance you can imagine Fitness model from bodybuilding journal - i.e. normal goy perfectly shaped and boy pop star with cute face but so so body.

i.) which do you prefer more considering that "values" a) and b) are equal just inversed. alternatively if you think these two factors (face and body) are equal, mention it please.
ii) you can add by your own words what you think about it.

second, please write some basic info about you:
a) your attitude towards health and sport.
b) know this might be sensitive, but please try to describe age and social and mental characteristics, e.g.: 22(or just early 20's or just young, what is convenient for you), student of medicine, and your hobbies (to get basic idea what personality you are - extravert that likes party and feels disregard to art and science, or introvert with close social circle working full time to some science thesis etc.)

conditions: Please do not take into consideration personality or clothes. That would make problem too complex. Second, get "your" image, do not try to image what I mean.

please follow these instructions. I really can't explain why I am asking, it would spoil whole questionnaire. If somebody is interested in the end I can add analysis and conclusion.

My image includes a personality. Sorry, but looks aren't everything and I don't care what a guy LOOKS like if I don't like his personality. You can't judge a person on only looks. You can't pick a person on only looks. And to do so would, in my opinion, be wrong.

I don't think he's discounting the importance of personality at all. He's asking if you were to see a guy for the first time without knowing anything about him, what physical features would be most interesting to you?

I don't believe any overall trend exists though, people's preferences tend to vary quite a bit.

Looks don't mean much to me at all, so to be asked to choose what man I would want based on looks only is impossible to consider.
Attraction, for me, comes from knowing the person, I don't do first impressions based on looks alone, so I would never choose a man based on looks alone.

This feels like one of the several drive-by survey-takers I've seen on forums seeking to finish a college dissertation or write a magazine article.

That's the cynic in me talking.

I know this is a question for a women but I can't help but to throw my thoughts into this... I do understand where TheRealCallie is coming from... But at the same time, I don't think it's entirely all that wrong for a person to be attracted to looks either... It is a very romantic notion that looks don't really matter & for some, it's very true... I do believe attraction is a "whole package"... I'm saying that with a thought in mind... I'm not saying everybody finds same things attractive... What I find attractive on a women might be a turn off for others... But the point is, I think physical attraction is a very important part of the whole thing... It's like asking which wheel of a bicycle is most important? Well, for me, both of them... It just wouldn't work without either one, front or back wheel... Without one or the other, it can't function properly as a bicycle... Personality counts as huge part of an attraction but for many other people, so does physical beauty... Some people find over grown, pale skinned, lanky & skinny girls not attractive at all... But in today's society, most of the top runway "models" are exactly that, tall, lanky, under-weight, over stressed girls... Some guys would go for that... I'm more attracted to a girl with a bit of tan, little meat on her bones, about average height who can keep up with me on all-you-can-eat pancake nights in ihop...
I'm just saying, if I had a choice to pick between two girls with great personality, I'm more likely to be more attracted to a girl with my version of "attractive" face/body...

Hah. Looks like someone procrastinated on their thesis...

Can I get an option C, where he has an average face, average body, and I get along with him? Because compatibility is probably the most important thing to me. A guy looking like a model, a farmer, a surfer, a biker... Whatever else you can think of... doesn't mean we'll hit it off right away or down the line.

Oh, and health and sports... I'd like him to be healthy, but for his own sake. Don't care if he plays sports. And I don't care about age.

*sigh*

Here, I'll answer your very straightforward question.
If nothing else was known and I was forced to select between two men (one with an above average body and the other with a pleasing face) I think I'd likely chose the one with a nice face. My reasoning? I enjoy looking at the face (and into the eyes) of someone I care about.

I'll take a destroyed face if the lips stay in tact.

There are copious studies on the role of facial symmetry in creating attraction. In summary: large foreheads with widely spaced, symmetrical features that default to a smile are ideal. I'd say that's likely to take precedence over a toned body.

Women will say looks rank a distant second to personality but it's in their nature on some instinctual level to attribute positive character traits to men with pleasant faces. To put it in cliche anthropological terms, during the hunter-gatherer era a man was either a protector or a threat, and they had to quickly assess which. It's not a death sentence for us ugly guys, but it means we have to work harder to 'talk off the face'.

For the love of BISCUITS!!!
It's a simple question. Do we REALLY have to turn this into a ******* male versus female bullshit thread???

I do agree, but I also think beautiful souls have beautiful bodies. Of course I have been judgemental in the past and been pleasantly surprised when the generic-looking 10/10 buxome blonde has turned out to be a really down-to-earth and lovely person, but I don't know - sometimes I see an ugly soul and the same 10/10 person suddenly looks extremely ugly, as well as acts it. For me, looks and personality are definitely related. But not in a vile way. The most hideously disfigured car-crash/burns victim will have beautiful eyes, even, dare I say it - aura, if they have a beautiful soul.

Sigh, OK, I'll own it- when the wimmen see me they all be like 'Hot ****, that's one sexy-ass chunk o' man, gimme some o' dat'. It's hard being so damned beautiful but a guys just gotta be who he is. :D

Seriously though, seems like there's waaaaay too much discussion about 'looks' and not enough about qualities lately....

Well, I like to get lost in a nice pair of eyes. I guess that means they can be equal to me.

What a pointless thread, I think I correctly speak for all women when I say that they want fat cocks. Porn said so.

Edit: To clarify, I mean they want the guy to have the fat cock. Not they themselves suddenly growing one.

Unless they're from a japanese cartoon.

And while women might like a guy who has a big dick, most of us don't want a guy who IS a big dick....:p
