Guess.
My research has led me to the Heightism in the dating world statistics and yes… I am shocked. I never knew there was so little body positivity and upliftment movements for men. My research has made me feel more aware about social issues than I ever have. I don’t like to just ignore struggles, everyone ignored mine now I hear so much more conversation on what once wasn’t even allowed to be spoken about. I think I’d be lying if I said I did not have a desired height I prefer my partner to be. But that doesn’t mean I’d disrespect a man because he is not that height. I do have a question on this topic, and ignore it if it’s triggering but…

The biggest argument I have found thus far in the heightism debate is, tall men are rare and hard to find. I think it’s a strange argument as people prefer unique and hard to find traits in a partner on a mass scale. For example I never get as much attention from men that look like me, it’s always men who think im this whole new invention.

So.. My question, my question is, if you was a short man, would you want someone to be with you because tall men are too hard to find, or because they actually like you and your height? I feel like I want someone that can accept all of me, but I know that’s a romantic view. It’s the main reason I try not to date people I find lacking in looks, as I know theres someone that could hopefully like all of him, and im robbing him of that. Just wondered what you guys thought, and please keep it respectful as… I have 😊..

I'm not particularly tall. Honestly I couldn't care less one way or another, in a partner it doesn't matter. I'd date a 6'6 woman if I found one attractive, but my observation is that women don't neçessarily enjoy tall men, just men taller than they are. Though its not an absolute.
But if anyone limits their choices based on height or an assinine physical characteristik like that...well maybe they arent worth dating to begin with lol. Even Barbie dumped Ken (although he had no ballz, so that's understandable 😈)

I'm exactly six foot tall, 6' 3" in Cuban heels. Where's my prize? is it cash? if not can I just have the monetary value of the prize? I just paid 59 quid for a full tank of gas I drive a Mini Cooper ffs!

I'll take 2 inches so I can hit 6' exactly, are you willing to make a trade? I don't have much, though. Blue eyes, if you like that kind of thing, I could part with at least one 😜

Yeah, I've seen so many dating profiles, or heard female friends proclaim a guy has to be a specific height. It still occurs to this day. Yet, could you imagine the unholy uproar is a guy requested a lady had a specific bra size.

This mighty little dude, all of 5'5" has never had issue with the ladies. Yeah, occasionally some has passed on a negative comment. But confidence and charm has always won them over.

I've dated taller ladies, including fashion model Katie Coo, 6'3". Former glamour model Sam Russell 5'0". And everything between.

I'm on both sides of the debate, we like whatever we like, whether it be tall or small. Yet, I also find it both hypocritical and obnoxious to immediately outcast anyone outside of these parameters. What's so special about you?

Without any questionable doubt, smaller guys do get treated differently by women. We get looked down upon. 😊

Both here and in the USA, women fawn over taller guys. Many of the Asian countries are suspicious of overly tall guys. And in Switzerland, Norway, and Iceland, we shorties become a bit of a novelty, and quite a commodity.

Likewise, if I were to specify my dream lady, like buying a car or a house, then I will choose a smaller woman. Not because of any height insecurities of my own, but it just seems to make more sense, small & small, tall & tall.

Hahah yeah why not, one blue eye might come in handy if I ever get cast as Bowie in his biopic :alien:

Very interesting, isnt the argument that everyone limits their choice based on characteristics though? 🤔🤔🤔 Like what drives you to want to get to know someone, it isnt their personality straight off the bat because how would you know it?

It’s a bit different requesting a bra size though, feels very sexual. So I dont think the two can compare… Heres a question.. why didnt you say height? Like height for height comparison instead of bra size?

Sorry, I'm not sure I understand the question.

Like why didnt you say, imagine if a man said they want a woman of a certain height? … I just wonder because during my research I see men stating imagine if i said weight… but i dont understand why they change the topic, is it because they think there would be no uproar if they specified height?

I just assumed if men on dating sites were given the option, that type of man would be stupid enough to select something superficial. It could be weight. I have definitely seen male profiles stating: no fat women.

As I see it, I think men are significantly less likely to be picky. Their profiles might contain some stupid requirements. Yet, given the attention of a woman falling outside of these, I guess the majority of men would still be happy.

Whereas, I do actually know many men who have been cut off, ghosted, had dates abruptly leave, simply on account of failing to meet a female's specified requirements. Some of the guys are dammed good looking too. But 5'9" just won't do.

Sorry I don't want to hijack Cenotaph's thread but I'm a wee bit curious. Do you lot use dating sites? I've never used one or seen the appeal of them.

Well men are less likely due to their role, like I always ask guys this question… if you had to pick someone to let you put your finger in their mouth… would you be more or less picky than who you’d let put a finger in your mouth? Like most people would be more picky with who they let inside their body… just an example

Absolutely not, no way! Horrible places, filled with vapid egotistical morons, largely deluded or just plain lying.

I've had friends use Plenty of Fish, and Biker Match, along with others. Regularly they would see other people we knew, portraying themselves as something quite spectacularly different.
