This post as long as it is touching. I've read it twice. You seem like a very kind, sensitive, and intelligent person. If you are looking to give people another chance and become well, more open that is good. The only thing to do is to trust, but verify people. Maybe let them open up first...

I like being alone most of the time. It sucks when there is "too much" of it, and you realize you've made a mess of things and you don't have anyone to go do anything fun or new with. The monotony of being alone can be difficult.
