Hey Jay - that is such a difficult situation. A friend has a son with autism and that has taken a toll on her, too. An idea that just occurred to me is to buy a bike. It might seem a bit of a strange idea, but I know moving along on a bike with some fresh air and new scenery can be a lift. It...

    New member and really struggling

A few tips I've followed - maybe they will help you: 1) Find one of the people you know in the office who is more friendly to you - maybe you can confide in that person about your predicament and see if he or she could initiate including you in conversations. 2) Watch and learn from other...

Thank you! My avitar was lifted from an Etsy store and I should give credit. The maker has so many adorable adorable cats. Here is a link to the shop if anyone is interested (it is not me!): https://www.etsy.com/shop/ktoARTStudio?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=1128344301

I have three cats - two are siblings and are 12 years old, and a third is 13 years old. The siblings are a tuxie (girl) and a big floofy grey boy. The other is a floofy black girl. How about yours?

Have you thought about getting another cat? There are many older cats that need homes and they are such good company. Fostering for a rescue group is another option - and if you foster one you like, you can apply to adopt.

Sounds like many of us have the same thing in common - how to keep friendships going in post-50+ ages. It seems there is kind of a natural ending to many friendships in mid-life, from what I've experienced. I'm single with no children, so all of my friends are at the stage where kids are...

Thanks for your note - appreciate the 'sarcastic overthinker'! A sense of humor definitely helps. I used to live in the UK and miss the sarcasm and irony.

    New member looking for friends

Hi Darren - Hope you are doing well. I know things are tough right now with the economy and things. How are you doing and let us know what you'd like to talk about. I used to live in the UK (studying British history), so I keep up with politics, etc.

I'm 59 and work from home, and the last years of lockdown and aftermath have taken a toll. My mom passed away just before it all started, so 2020 was a very difficult year, plus the downturn in my business, and lack of social ties have now really hit me. I've had depression before, but now have...
