Originally from Pittsburgh I went to undergrad at Penn State and graduate school at Ohio State. I then moved to Washington D.C. for five years where one of my jobs was very rewarding and exciting--a Congressional Aide on Capitol Hill. I have spent my whole career working to help others and make the world a better place. Much of it has involved working to revitalize distressed inner city neighborhoods. I have also done a lot of volunteer work to help at-risk youth.

I suffer from mental illness--depression, anxiety and OCD. But I am determined to beat it. I am a devout Catholic. My faith gives me true hope that things will slowly, slowly get better for me.

Things I like to do for fun are reading (John Grisham, Pat Conroy, Luanne Rice are some of my favorite authors), I am a sports fan, enjoy politics/current events, nature, cross word puzzles, art and photography. I also enjoy getting together with real life friends but don't have many. I enjoy exchanging emails with my online friends. It helps with my lonliness. I hope to meet friends here to email and chat with to discuss out interests (I am open to friends with different interests than mine) and the ups and downs of life. Thanks! Doug
