Hello, to you reading this. I’m a guy, despite the feminine sound of my name, quite lonely and looking for ways to change that. I enjoy computer related activities, stimulating conversation, exchange of ideas and try to keep an open mind about things. I am a citizen of the USA but for the past year I’ve lived in South America. I left the US because things there just seemed to be too adversarial. Life here is different, no doubt about that and not so confrontational but I don’t think that I’ve found my “forever” home either. That’s enough for now or maybe too much for some but all of it is honest and comes from my heart.

Welcome to the forum! That's awesome that you were brave enough to move outside of the US. I have to work up enough courage to leave my house. :)
Being older and retired, with a guaranteed income, made things a little easier.
Many are the days though that I don’t leave my home. Not because I fear for
my safety but I just feel more alone not knowing anyone I pass by and they
don’t seem all that interested in knowing me at all. I feel unnecessary here.

I'm older and have no attachements other then my house, which I want to sell. I plan on living in my truck and travel around. But, stay completely isolated from everybody else. The western US is good for doing that. What do you enjoy doing locally there? Is it close to the beach? Is it the shopping? What keeps you there? And, are you thinking about moving again?

Actually, I enjoy being with people, a few at a time but where I am there are language and cultural barriers to deal with. I live in the mountains so no beaches very near but the beach isn't my happy place, so much, anyways. There are quite a few North Americans where I am but a large portion are married couples and a significant number of alpha (or so they try to be) males. Lots of one upmanship here and not something I enjoy. I felt like people were too combative in the states and I must say that here has been more peaceful but no one trusts anyone here as evidenced by the bars on the windows, the lack of eye contact, electrified fencing and other things. I miss human connections and hope I can make some online. I've tried other forums but so many people there seemed rude and self-centered. I'm hoping that this will be a more pleasant experience.

Welcome! We already met in another thread, but I just wanted to officially welcome you.

This forum does have more friendly people than most do so I hope you enjoy it.

How interesting that you moved to another country! I wish I would be brave enough to do that.

I don't remember ever seeing "Myself" thread. It looks interesting.

Welcome to the forums. It looks like you are finding your way around here pretty well. :)
Thank you, so far, so good, I guess. I’ve been on this type of form before, so the general layout is familiar to me. The friendliness and the welcoming nature of the other members though is completely foreign. Foreign and appreciated though. It feels as if I’ve discovered just how nice hot water feels on my skin after being deluged with cold water for so many years. This feels, for me, like an oasis in the desert of online forums. Thanks for your welcome. I truly feel welcome here! 😊
