For me , this is the best way to start my day ...

sunrise_1200_getty.jpg

i wake up at 5.30 and sits in my sofa till 6 browsing the internet ...

then i reach the gym before 6.30 ...

comes back home before 8.30 ...

And this morning routine feels good ...

A solid morning routine has long been the backbone of my self-care practice. As someone who deals with depression and anxiety, it makes a noticeable difference in my mental health (and I definitely feel an even bigger difference when I skip it). You don’t have to take my word for it, though. Therapists will be quick to tell you the mental health benefits of starting your day this way. “A healthy, low-stress, [and] focused morning routine sets the tone for the whole day,” clinical psychologist Ryan Howes, Ph.D., tells SELF.

Thanks ...

My routine is a bit similar. Right now I am waiting to go to the gym, since it only opens at 6:30. I am also usually back by 8:30, and it does feel really good.

Yes ...

I have never thought i would be doing these in my life properly ...

i was a person that used to go to sleep around 2 AM ... wake up at 8 or 8.30 ....

but i was getting really sick of that sedentary lifestyle ...

and i like this change ...

:)

I used to go to sleep very late, sometimes even early in the morning. My brain just works better late at night. However I changed my habits after university, when I got a regular job.

I did the following this morning:

- Circuit of abs - leg raises, bicycle crunches, regular crunches, glute bridges - 50 reps each
- Circuit of resistance - 4 times of the follwing with 90 second rest between - pushups using "perfect pushup stands" (20 - I find them much harder than regular pushups), goblet squats (15), curls (15), reverse curls(15), triceps extensions (15), calve extensions (20)
- Went out and walked 2 miles. I usually try to do 3+ in the AM, bu was late getting out today.

I'll walk another 2 at lunch and hopefully 4+ miles before dinner.

And I could do all that for 1 reason and 1 reason only -- did not drink yesterday so no hangover this morning.
I have to keep it up.
Have to.

How can you guys wake up so early?
I hardly get up at about 7:30 and feel miserable. I tried to do some exercise or jogging in the morning, but after it a head a headacke and can't work good. A few times I got ill so afte a while I gave up with this morning experiments.
I just get up and go to work. It's nice I can have a breakfast a little bit later, while working.

i remember updating a thread with our home workouts some months ago ...

what i learned from that was working out at home has a lot of limitations ... its a lot more dark and gloomy at home ...

working out at a gym is lot more interesting ...

i am not saying i always reach the gym before 6.30 itself ... sometimes i can only be there before 7.30 ...

for me , if i can simply get up from the bed ... i start functioning ...

getting up from the bed is the only struggle during that time ...

:)
