Snapchat

Curious, what is your take on Snapchat? Do you still use it, did you stop? Or would you not touch the app even with a 10 foot pole?

I don't use it often anymore but I do enjoy seeing bits out of people's day on stories, and sometimes snapping with someone can be fun too when it's an actual conversation back and forth. I like the simplicity of it. It's gotten to the point now where certain people only want to send me a selfie 15x+ a day either for streaks or simply for attention tbh, then get cross with me when I don't do the same or have a comment for everything. And it's literally people my age, too. Maybe they are just used to being the center of attention all the time? Idk.. It's irritating because these few can barely hold a conversation and obviously think I'd rather see their mug, or the floor, for some reason, or for whatever reason it is for their own benefit. Makes me feel like they don't value my time at all. I've kind of been feeling this way with social media in general.. but it's definitely starting more with Snapchat.

Never have and never will get snapchat. Snapchat seems more "LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME" than other social media.

I never really got into it.
I only used it to talk to one person several years ago.
I found it to mostly be kind of a mess of an app.

I made snapchat when I was out in NY so all I have is americans on there dont use it to be fair as I just cant trust myself….

The social media world has left me behind a long time ago...I just have Facebook (and, I guess you could say LinkedIn).
I guess you could count Skype and Discord, but those are more messaging services.
And I'm on here, and that's it.

I didn't do Instagram or anything that came out after that. Just never felt the need.

I'll never use it. It's currently part of a lot of issues between girls in my oldest son's class, I think I'm okay with it not being on my devices.

I've used it before. It's incredibly stupid.

I downloaded and use snapchat for 2 people. I dislike the app, an app designed to hide chats is nothing for me.

I don't really care that people use it but if they pay for snapchat premium....then I find it a bit sad.

I know people who have snapscores in the millions lol

Btw some advice: if an app makes you insecure find out the root of your insecurity and delete the app. Instagram made me insecure so I dont use it anymore. Tiktok was a shithole so I havent been using it for over a year etc etc

I got rid of it a while ago. I found the content ridiculous. I use whatsapp or fb messenger to converse with others but would get rid of the latter if it wasn’t for the few friends on there.

I only have linkedin.

Downloaded it once because some girl on a dating app wanted to chat on it. I strongly suspected it yo be a fake profile, so I waited a few days before msging her. Profile had vanished. I deleted it shortly thereafter.
I'd much rather do phone anyway. Or videocall instead of this incessant texting garbage.

i heard of snapchat before but have never used it. A few years ago I left most of the social media sites and I feel as if a huge weight has lifted. I consider myself more of a private person plus I don't care much for getting attention and validation on social media. It's all mostly fake in the end of the day. I've got 1 good friend from college and she has my number and I have hers so we talk on whatsapp to catch up.

I tried snapchat once, somehow I ended up with a random 11yo girls from the US sending me snapchat, as well as a 21yo new-yorker which sent me snap all the time. I deleted it afterward as it was surreal
