I just got booted out of my mental health forum because someone posted an offensive comment to a delicate post I made. I got really upset about the whole thing. I was supposed to report it to the administers, instead I took matters into my own hands and they booted me out.

Now I no longer have this established site to post to anymore. I just found a new one but the whole thing is very upsetting. These forums keep me sane and from feeling so lonely.

I have to readjust to a new site. Start all over again. I didn't know the rules. He was a jerk and I was upset.

The only good mental health forum I ever found was SAS and I was stupid enough to get banned from that.

They know my story. They know me. I won't be able to go back under another ID. Unless I start lying.

I know I was angry at them enough to leave but I didn't want to be booted out.

Welcome to ALL. Can you not email any Admins to sort things out? Do you talk to anyone who still has access to the inside? Maybe they can help?

What site was it that booted you?

I'm new to this whole online support thing. Somebody else mentioned SAS... mind spelling that out for us noobs?

Thanks

Welcome! If they don't realize it's not entirely your fault then you oughta be here instead :>

Um you guys do realize this thread is two and a half years old and the OP hasn't been back in nearly just as long.

LOL no I didn't realize that. I wonder why it appeared near the top of the page for me -- maybe because I'm a new member.

Hey guys, gentle suggestion, check the time stamp before replying to a thread. This one is 3 years old.

Part of the reason for you being booted is because in today's society, it is generally frowned upon to take matters into your own hands in some cases.

For example, if a child is bullied and fights back, that child is punished for defending himself! Or in some states, if someone is trying to rob you or attack you and you shoot the criminal, you might be the one ending up in jail because, the "logic" goes, you should just let the criminal have his way and then call the cops. Among other examples, these examples reflect how there is an expectation on people to handle things through "the system", a third party, rather than deal with the problem directly. So when you confronted the jerk, you ended up being booted because you violated that expectation by fighting back. Of course, this is incredibly unfortunately but if those administrators of that site felt you should be kicked out for defending yourself, well, good riddance. In any case, you are welcome here and I hope you find the help you are looking for on here.

I don't mind if people respond to older threads. Not like they're doing anyone any harm. :)

I was on socialanxietysupport.com for one year I was accused of not having anxiety when I had more anxiety than all the people responding negatively. If there's one thing I know inside, out, sideways and around in this world is: There is no justice, Anyplace with society. Many are wrong from the smallest to biggest things
90% of people are insanely selfish, and fear truth. They live in delusions.

I'm aware this topic is over 2 years old, but for anyone who feels they have been unjustly booted off a forum, you could always start one of your very own. This will take time and some dedication and you would need to appoint a moderator or two you can trust.

This happened a few years ago when I was booted out of a forum over a petty squabble, and I never even initiated it. I wrote to the administrator and they would have none of it, so I was permabanned and it was Goodbye Mouse. I thought well, sod ya, and went ahead and built my own. :p

It took me a while to get the hang of the host's clockwork in the Admin Control Panel, but managed to make quite a successful little forum for those who like me, suffered OCD and Anxiety, about 60 members half of which were active daily. It also took a large chunk out of my free time, but hey - I was onto something really good, for writing new topics is something I loved and encouraging my members was most satisfying.

After two years I handed the board ownership over to a good friend who took up the baton, so there was reward in what I had achieved.

Interesting that I come back after years and this topic is still going. I did return to the forum I spoke of. I have a better attitude now and I'm less sensitive. I have been in threads were people have tried to cause problems. I just brush it off now. I sit back and watch knowing that what they are saying is about them and not me.

Welcome back! Glad to see you found a better way to cope. :)

I was booted out of a forum, totally unfairly. Similar to what others said, I was attacked unfairly, and so I responded in self-defense. But my attackers were on the forum much longer than I was, so they had the upper hand. They reported my so-called "bad behavior" to the mods/admins, and then swiftly perma-banned me in the most extreme way. I couldn't find a way to log on or create a new account, no matter what I tried. They were always a step ahead of me, like they were IT security specialists. It's painful to be seen as nearly a troll, when I was one of the most genuine and kind people there. Life can be incredibly agonizing and unjust, online and IRL.
