Just wondering about in the long term effects. I know some of positives, in particular the implied reduction in rates of cancer and heart disease in the results of the much publicised ‘China Study’.
On the other hand the vegan lifers I’ve come across tend to look unhealthy and prematurely aged. Is animal protein an irreplaceable part of our diet? In other words are vitamin and mineral supplements really adequate? (particularly B-12)

I’m interested in hearing about it from people who have been vegan for significant portion of their lives, if there are any here.
