An attempt to reason the not plucking of one of many gray hairs. A completely ridiculous moment in time this morning :p

The Hair

The hair
The one gray hair
That mocks me in the morning
After a restless sleep

It stands at attention
Waving “hello”
While all the other grays slip silently among the browns
Tamed by a 4 dollar hair brush

The nonconformist
The rebel
Silently protesting my demands
Undesired

A manifestation of old age, life events, science
To some, a representation of wisdom, a fashion statement

It stands as an extension of me
Incites an awareness
Of my life, of my years
Of gained wisdom

It remains...until tomorrow

In general not a big poetry fan, however, I like this one. Thanks for sharing. I keep my head shaved pretty short, but every once and a while it grows long enough for me to see how much the gray count has grown.
Take care Blumar

+1 on Garbageman's post. It's nice to read a poem that is plain & unpretentious. I shave my head but those white hairs are in the beard now...no point trying to pluck them all out. :p

If you want to here just how serious loneliness can get !!!
Here is a Poem I wrote for a Fictional Character in a movie.... Neytiri from Avatar.....

I go forth into the wilderness
and survive the ravaging of the predators
in the simi-existing remnants of what we believed to be humanity !!

To return to my den of solitude
And turn on my Hot, 10ft. bluish Princess, that hisses
And say live is Gooood !!

Great poem. It made me laugh. It's less funny when I know I have grey hairs springing out of all sorts of places and I've not even reached 40 yet!
