Is it any different than say "Looking for gamers."? You probably wouldn't think twice at that would you?
It's nothing more than being specific.
I'm not saying it's impossible for an artist to click with a gamer.. but the chances of a gamer having common interest with a gamer is probably higher than a gamer with an artist (say photography).

If you want to talk with any female in this forum, then do it in a discreet way.
Check out any female profiles you may find, decide and PM them.
There are even females in here who want to talk, provided you PM them, first.
