Hi, I was wondering if anyone here has herniated discs in their back and what do you do about it (fitness, physiotherapy etc).

I was diagnosed last week with 2.5 herniated discs in my neck and since then I am afraid to move my neck, as you can imagine that doesn't help.
It would be nice to hear about others' experiences…

my co-worker has several due to an auto accident...she is in physical therapy and she gets steroid injections in her neck...

Peaches, I'm so sorry.... :(

I hope you'll find something that helps soon. *hugs*

Google yoga for back/neck injuries, watch some honeysuckle, read some honeysuckle. Make your own routine based on the exercises you think will help most, do it 3 times a week or before workouts.

Did your doctor advise you on a course of treatment after telling you your diagnosis?

yeah, well, the GP immediately talked about surgery, while the yoga teacher rolled her eyes at that and said that exercise is enough, waiting to talk with some specialists next week -

I just spent $200 in pillows and props to sit straight in front of the computer…

I was just wondering if someone here had the same problem and how bad it can be

Apparently everyone's neck here is OK, glad to hear :D

Kamya, hanging upside down is an interesting idea, but I am so clumsy that I don't see it having a happy ending…
