Do you know a computer language?
I know Visual Basic (.NET), XHTML, and SQL. I'm trying to teach myself PHP, but it's not going so well.

I've taken classes in Java, C++, and Assembly, and have used Bash, Korn, PowerCLI, Powershell, Perl (my favorite!), SQL, and HTML on the job.
Trying to study Java programming at university, but I suck so hard at it, I'll probably fail the course. (If anyone here are competent with Java and have the patience to help a simpleton, please don't hesitate to get in touch, either here or on PM. Really. I'm dead serious. I need SO much help, and I need it yesterday.)
Ok first of all, programming isn't about knowing a language, it's about knowing structure, capabilities, best practices and how too implement them in a useful and efficient way, knowing the language helps with that efficiency greatly though! modern design in programming is heavily fragmented, whether it be in libraries, codepages/files or classes, oversight and structuring your workspace is key because of that and it can realy only be gained by experience!

So I work with ASP.NET on a daily basis and focus mainly (or exclusivly) on the techniques I need for that, here's the list;
  • C# (C-Sharp for the non programmers)
  • T-SQL (Transact Structured Query Language)
  • JavaScript
  • HTML / HTML5
  • CSS / SCSS
  • XML
Not actuall languages but very important extension sets.
  • LINQ / LINQ to SQL
  • JSON
  • JQuery
I wish I would know, it seems really cool. Smile
