Hello, Wrote this not long after my wife passed away... Writing seems to help get the despair out of my head.
Dragon
By: Haunted Texan
I need to see a dragon
Too much magic's disappeared.
We, as people, are too grounded
In daily grinds and constant fears.
We, as spirits, seem too fragile
as life forgets we're even here.
I need to see a dragon
a rugged scale or ragged tooth
Just to know the soul now lost to me
Can soar across the skies
Her timeless beauty and flowing gown
Atop that graceful wurm
I just need to see a dragon
A fleeting glimpse to know it's there.
