Here are some short poems I've written
Hope you like them

My life is singular
My thoughts weigh deep
My soul is lingering
My eyes can’t speak
I feel restless
And I feel numb
My eyes are slowly closing
My time here is done

------

This pervasive dread which engulfs me at every turn
Bereft of the ease of mind for which I yearn
I plead for grace where none might hear
So none might take from me what I hold dear
I turn my back for all to see
To justify my insanity
There is no hope for me

------

They would have me fall
To never rise
Yes they would have me crawl
And beg for life
But I won’t listen, no
I won’t hear their lies
I will not cry out in despair
For what I’ve been denied
But I will be silent
And retreat from life
To find the peace I’ve long searched for
In the stillness of the night

------

When I perish from this world
There will be a moment’s sadness
And those I love will carry in their memories
A picture of a man so helpless

So detached from the world around
So broken in himself
Crying out in desperation
But unheard and lost in hell

-----

I am no participant in this life
Only a silent observer
And all the things that pass before mine eyes
Make me loathe it even further

As if there is some truth to life
On how to be
That they have kept from me
And they have kept me blind…

I only dread the day
When the world around me ceases to be
When I’d have shut myself off from everything
And the place where was once my soul, would be empty

-----

A dying flower is a sorry sight to see
Hanging onto its final thread
Moving ever closer towards its destiny
But is this not the path we must all take?
Is it not the way we must all be?

So rejoice
Rejoice in knowing
That the old gives way to new
That the colourless leaves
Must perish before a brighter hue
So that a livelier one may spring
In the early morning dew

----

Someone once came to me and said
‘There is much more life to you than you do let see’
‘Certainly’ said I ‘There is much more life behind these eyes of me.
Exuberant do they shine, these thoughts of mine
Through vistas yet unseen
Do my strangest fancies gleam
Oh yes, it’s beautiful to have such a mind
Yet it leaves me cold and indifferent
To the world outside
It makes me shun that
Which others call life…
