Even most Australians haven't heard of the late Don Ritchie AKA "the Angel of the Gap".   The Gap is a very high oceanic cliff in Sydney, and is the traditional place where many decide to end things.  Don died five years ago, but not before he did some amazing things.  I hope this will give you a lift for Christmas.  There are good people out  there.   Godspeed, Don.
