Intro thread

Hi folks of ALA,

As the site suggests, l am indeed quite lonely and would like to expand my social circle. I didn't really know how to start with getting my profile "out there", and I wanted to get to know some people before asking for their advice and opinions, so I figured a general introduction thread was in order.

Tell me a bit about yourself? 

I'm from Wales, the UK.
I'm 24, and have a son.
I'm single and have a halfway decent job with reasonable prospects.
I'm here for friendship, and to offer an ear when someone needs it.

(I've also never really participated in forum based stuff either, so if I could do with brushing up on my posting technique let me know!)

I'm from the Netherlands, deep south.
I'm 34 and have no kids.
I'm single and have a decent job with reasonable prospects my self.
I'm here for a lot of reasons, yours are in no way excluded from my own.

I'm from Britain, living in the Netherlands (in the middle).
I'm 44 (and I have a son but he is grown up so that is irrelevant...how dreadful our children become irrelevant haha)
I'm married and a stay at home carer to my sick and handicapped husband. I am also a volunteer generally but not right now.
I'm here for interaction with other human beans in my native language.
