Just wondering what everyone considers acceptable to post on social media.

I never talk about issues or draw attention to any emotional or mental trouble I may be having. I often post humourous statuses or I will share music videos. I occasionally share music videos and write out specific lyrics if they are meaningful, but I usually delete these within an hour or two because I always feel awkward afterwards. I always convince myself the next time that there is nothing wrong with posting songs and lyrics, but I'll always delete again later.

What does everyone else consider acceptable? Anything you hate to see posted? Are there any things you think are taboo but should be acceptable on social media?

I hate seeing Jesus posts. I believe in all that, but I don't feel it should be plastered all over Facebook and the like. It shouldn't be shoved in everyone's face. Sure, okay, as for prayers/thoughts if you need it, but keep it simple.

I also hate those "pass it on" posts. "You will win a million dollars if you share this" "You hate Jesus if you don't share this" Just stop already.

Oh, almost forgot, the fake posts people keep posting over and over again. "facebook will start charging you" "THE BRITISH ARE COMING, THE BRITISH ARE COMING" Crap like that.

As for what I find acceptable...pretty much anything else. Post your lyrics, post what you're feeling, post what pisses you off, but don't do ONLY those things. Mix it up. Give yourself and people who have friended you or followed you some variety.

I find it disrespectful to post pictures of victims of crime. Like when they are dead or most vulnerable. Or animals that have died on the road etc. Respect for the dead you know?

Oh yeah, forgot about that one.  And also tortured animals.  I have a friend that posts nothing but tortured dog pictures and petitions to some cause to stop it.  The petition, sure, the images, no.
I have some family who only posts about pit bulls too.  Seriously, we can talk about other things, stop obsessing.

I'm not in control of other people's contents. Besides which, if I don't agree with what others post, why am I even friends with them?

I see facebook as a toy. Always have. Fact it's become such a staple and necessity in other people's lives sparks me no little fear. It does have it's uses sometimes, I'll agree to that, however.
Acceptable content should be really anything someone thinks or talks about. If one of my friends is thinking about blowing his brains out, I'd much rather they reach out to me on facebook rather than do it in their back yards and not tell anyone anything, so even that would be acceptable to me in the right circumstances.
I guess what I wouldn't be okay with is gratuitous hate or personal attacks. And pornography under 18.

If Iwouldn't say it to somebody's face, I won't post it.

These days I am a little constrained on FB, because my octogenarian mother is on there, and she might freak out if I say some stuff I really think - usually concerning my mental state. So I have to be happier and bubblier than I really am.

I don't like it when people repost social justice type crap all the time. Expecially if they are guys.

Things that are acceptable: sharing content that is suitable and unoffensive to your set audience.
Things that are unacceptable: lies, manipulation, blackmail, bullying, abuse, threats, harassment, violent, vile and pornographic images.
