Rediscovering a real sense of optimism is pretty great (and free), when it happens.

I cross-reference information according to subject and attempt to historically reconstruct any correlations as a hobby. This can be done for free, as the local library has an arsenal of books on subjects that I enjoy for me to do this with. After all, it's all about knowing where to look, and what to look for. It's a developmental skill, I think. Easy for me to burn myself out on though, it's been a while since I've gone that way.
