Bittersweet Loneliness

I’ve never felt so alone without physically being alone. In fact I at times feel less lonely alone.
I’ve been trying to fill this void for quite some time, and I’m not sure if I’m ever meant to. By a spontaneous thought I decided to google lonely forums. This is where it lead.

As Robin Williams said: "I used to think that the worst thing in life was to end up alone. It's not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people who make you feel alone."

I was in the same situation for many years. It sneaks up on you and and becomes normal. I finally woke up and was able to get out. I'm less lonely now even though I go to bed alone and wake up alone.

Being with people can be lonely when the social synchronization isn't quite right....that's when solitude is less lonely.
