I wake up sometime in the middle of the night and I can't get back to sleep.

I worry about a lot so that is most likely my problem.

I get cramps during the day and take a nap to relax.

I have tried to stay awake all day sometimes but I haven't made it stick.

Anyone have any other tips?

I just watched the Adam Ruins Everything episode about sleep. I guess waking up in the middle of the night is normal.

What I do is pretend that I'm already asleep. I get comfortable, close my eyes, and imagine a peaceful fantasy scenario. Obviously nothing too stimulating. That's what works for me. Like imagining yourself exploring an empty mansion - interacting with the environment.

If that doesn't work, then just hit yourself on the head with something blunt :D

I struggle with sleep too. I wake up several times during the night. It sucks.
I don’t really have a solution to the problem.

Hitting yourself in the head with something blunt sounds like a really good idea.
Can’t wait to try it out tonight!
What do you recommend using?
🤪

Late night talk radio especially if talking about brexit...yawn...earphones in 5 minutes I'm gone .

I got prescription pills for that. Only take them when've been up more than 48 hours though.
I find tea works best to help me relax.

I have problem with sleep, too.

In order to feel fresh, I must sleep 8 hours minimum.
But during a night I almost never can get the needed amount of sleep hours.
Instead, I sleep only six or seven hours. It is insufficient.
Because of that I feel sleepy for all day.
Then I try to take a nap.
But sometimes sleep does not come anyway.
Sometimes it is almost impossible to fall asleep.
At such days, I feel sleepy and tired but still cannot sleep.
If I can take a nap during a day it is happiness for me.
Insomnia and sleepiness steal my energy and ruin my life.

It started many years ago, and I do not see the end of it.
I appreciate hours when I am fresh and full of energy.
In such blessed hours I try to be active and to do something useful for myself.

I have sleeping issues myself. Insomnia more like it.
My mind just thinks and I start daydreaming or getting lost in thought.
I tried drinking tea which helps. Listening to ambient or soft music relaxes your mind.
Doctors wanted to put me on sleep medication. I declined. I don't like depending on medication.
You could also try ASMR YouTube channels. :)

Hibiscus tea is very good to help fall asleep!! I never can stay awake after! :)
Counting sheep once helped for me too, but I dont think it works if you focus on how many you counted so far..

I tried the blunt object thing and it worked like a charm.

I was out for 12 hours straight.

Thanks guys!

I'm not sure if you're kidding.. Does that really work??
