hi,

i'm 41, female, no kids 1 cat.

i live in Cornwall UK and it is beautiful, i spend as much time as i can watching sunsets and visiting beaches.

i used to have lots of friends and go out a lot, but life changes and i don't have any friends or socialise anymore.

most of the time i'm ok on my own and to be honest i am naturally a loner but i have times where i am very depressed, isolated and suffer with anxiety; making friends is not something i am good at but once i get to know you i'm fine.

i have a good sense of humour and am educated in a few fields, i also don't watch tv, news or believe the mainstream media etc, so i'm definitely into alternative theories on things.

i'm looking to make friends and have a chat here and there.

i don't use social media and am useless at being online a lot, but i will make more of an effort on this site.

Hello! I know what you mean about friends drifting away. Over the past 5 - 10 years a lot of mine have also vaporized into the mist for various reasons. Sometimes I'm thankful, because not all of them were great friends in retrospect, but occasionally I also get melancholy and feel isolated. I am happily married, at least, but the circle of friends has definitely diminished.

I haven't made it to the UK yet, but I've heard that Cornwall is gorgeous.

Welcome.  What fields are you educated in?

Feel free to check out the chat room, if you'd like :)

hi,
thank you, i will have to pop in the chat room some time.

i am educated in photography and some marine science and nature stuff although i've forgotten most of it, i did learn some meteorology in that though which is helpful for sunsets and landscape photography.
at the moment i am studying tefl as i'd like to live in asia one day, england is so cold and rainy.

what about you? are you from california? just guessing by your user name.

hi,
yes same for me, some of them i am also pleased aren't in my life anymore, it is sad how people drift apart though.

that's good that you are happily married, must be nice to have someone who's genuinely got your back, definitely something that's hard to find, but i can understand feeling lonely still.
i haven't had a relationship for a long time because they've never turned out well, but this is the first time in years i have finally given time to myself and am really happy to be on my own, i have come to the realisation that you should only be with someone who is truly there for you and not get in a relationship because you are lonely etc.

cornwall is definitely gorgeous, i escaped city life and came to cornwall for peace, best part of the country in my opinion although it's still cold, grey and rainy here most of the time. it's a good place for surfing also on the north coast.

do you live near any beaches?

That is true, sometimes people leaving one's life ends up being a very good thing. I do have a few of those as well.

I also had many very unsatisfying, frustrating and even nasty relationships before my current marriage. I had honestly given up, but sometimes serendipity kicks in when you least expect. So far, so good, so we'll see. My policy now is that if you're not good close friends with the person, and they with you, then you have no business marrying the person. I've had so many relationships in the past that focused mostly on the "intimate" side and almost none on the actual "getting along" side. A good one needs both, but people seem to learn that the hard way.

I don't live near any beaches, unfortunately. I'm pretty land-locked, but a few Great Lakes aren't too far away.
