Another Poem by RedheadOrDead: A Lonely Road

I wrote this poem for a friend, then realised how appropriate it is for here...

When your worries teem your dreams
And the dawn seems oh so far away
Just dream upon a different day
And slowly your life's tale relay.

A different place, and different people,
And a path that slowly winds
Along a broken forest road
But it's worth it for the peace you'll find

A life that's dark and plagued with problems
Anger and sadness, all you know
But the mask is plain and empty
So the feelings will not show

But please, upon this winding road,
Consider all that you have done,
To help your friends, and sooth their brows,
And the road will be a happy one

And you sit upon your bed
And ponder scars and wounds above
And then you smile and realise
The reason for this hard journey
Is love
