Recently restored photos

These are 100 year old color photographs from Russia. The US Library of Congress owns them but the technology wasn't around to restore them until recently.

They're amazing. You'd think that they were taken last summer on vacation. Technology is awesome.

They work fine for me. In some of them, the colours do seem to be off slightly, but most are indistinguishable from a modern photograph. A great collection as well, the photo of Tolstoy and some of the architecture were particularly impressive. Thanks for sharing

wow so everything back then, is just the same as is now,
well color wise

cool

it's weird seeing history in color,

it looks more like, those historical renactor people

like someone could do that at a renisance fair, and saw they're colored pics from medival ages

the 18th one there is just breath takingly beautiful

i want to go there some day
