CNN's Elizabeth Landau did an article about loneliness titled, "Loneliness Spreads in Social Networks"
http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/12/04/loneliness.social.network/
Basically the article stated that loneliness is a contagious condition that can affect not only yourself, but those around you. I dislike how the article was written because she sounded too negative about the topic, as if loneliness was more contagious than the flu.
But I'm not gonna let that deter me away from what things I could find from it...
"In terms of therapy, it's important for lonely people to understand the condition and what it does to the brain, he said (He being John Cacioppo, a psychologist at the University of Chicago who has written a book called "Loneliness,"). Those who are lonely tend to view things as more threatening, and if they understand that, they can help themselves temper such strong reactions.
"We can correct our tendency to want to act grumpy to others," he said.
