I randomly did a Disk Cleanup on my laptop for my C drive, and now if I try to open it this message pops up:

The C:/ application cannot be run in Win32 mode

I tried restarting the laptop, and at the beginning this message pops up:

Application failed to initiate 0x1800etc. A problem caused Windows Defender Service to stop. To start the service, restart your computer or search Help and Support on how to start a service manually.

Help?

These r from yahoo answers so cant guarantee if it works and please dont blame me if anything goes wrong.

heres the link for it http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061231111413AAwahSU

1. Control Panel / Add-remove programs / remove Windows Defender. Go to Microsoft Update. In the search window, type Windows Defender. Select first option, Windows Defender Home. Download and install latest version. Problem will disappear.

2. Go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/ . This should load a description of Windows Cleanup Utility.
Scroll down the page and find 'Download the Windows Installer Cleanup". Click on this, download then run.

Then download new version of Defender 1.1.1593.0 . It is at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...

Download then run (install).

this should fix your problem
