With the dawn and the first era summarized we can further look into the 2nd era of Elder Scrolls. This is just a side note I am summarizing the periods later on I will touch on the different aspects I have missed like the lore of the gods, the culture, wars, the lorebooks etc. I do this because there is a lot of content and history to cover that summarizing. It takes a lot of time looking into things, but after you know more about the important history helps move the story along and (I feel) will help with any burn out. Since the lore is extensive and the topics covered have side stories, characters, and events, that happen within those respective timelines I apologize but I feel that this is the best way to represent the story ark thank you.

The Second Era was a period of political and social upheaval in Tamriel. The continent was split into several independent regions, and various factions vied for power and influence. This era began with the collapse of the Second Empire of Tamriel, which had ruled over the continent for several centuries.

One of the major events of the Second Era was the Alliance War, a series of conflicts between three major factions that sought to control Tamriel: the Aldmeri Dominion, the Daggerfall Covenant, and the Ebonheart Pact. The Aldmeri Dominion was led by the Altmer, who sought to re-establish Elven dominance over Tamriel. The Daggerfall Covenant was a union of the Bretons, Redguards, and Orcs, who sought to resist Elven rule and establish a united Tamriel. The Ebonheart Pact was an alliance between the Nords, Dunmer, and Argonians, who sought to defend their territories against the other factions.

During the Second Era, Tamriel also faced threats from external forces, such as the invading Akaviri and the Daedric Prince Molag Bal, who attempted to merge his realm of Coldharbour with Tamriel. In response, a group of heroes known as the Five Companions led a rebellion against Molag Bal and his minions, culminating in the events of the Planemeld, a massive conflict that threatened to destroy Tamriel.

The Second Era also saw the rise of several important figures, such as the Prophet, a mysterious figure who played a key role in the events of the Planemeld, and Abnur Tharn, a powerful mage and adviser to the Empire. Other significant events of the Second Era include the assassination of Empress Regent Clivia Tharn, the Akaviri Invasion of 2E 572, and the signing of the Ebonheart Pact.

The Alliance War was a major conflict that took place during the Second Era of the Elder Scrolls timeline. It involved three major factions vying for control of Tamriel: the Aldmeri Dominion, the Daggerfall Covenant, and the Ebonheart Pact. Here's a more detailed explanation of the Alliance War:

  • The Aldmeri Dominion: The Aldmeri Dominion was led by the Altmer, who sought to re-establish Elven dominance over Tamriel. The Dominion also included the Bosmer and Khajiit, who allied with the Altmer in their quest for power. The Dominion was led by Queen Ayrenn, who sought to unify her people and establish a new Elven Empire.
  • The Daggerfall Covenant: The Daggerfall Covenant was a union of several powerful kingdoms, including the Bretons of High Rock, the Redguards of Hammerfell, and the Orcs of Orsinium. The Covenant sought to resist Elven rule and establish a united Tamriel. The Covenant was led by King Emeric of High Rock, who was known for his charisma and leadership.
  • The Ebonheart Pact: The Ebonheart Pact was an alliance between three unlikely allies: the Nords of Skyrim, the Dunmer of Morrowind, and the Argonians of Black Marsh. The Pact was formed in response to the threat of the other two factions, and the three races put aside their differences to defend their territories. The Pact was led by Jorunn the Skald-King, a Nord leader who became a symbol of unity and strength.
The Alliance War was a massive conflict that spanned several years and involved battles and skirmishes across Tamriel. The war began in 2E 582, when the Aldmeri Dominion launched a surprise attack on the city of Cyrodiil, the traditional seat of power for the Empire. The other two factions responded by sending their own armies to Cyrodiil, and the stage was set for a massive conflict that would determine the fate of Tamriel.

Throughout the war, each faction had their own leaders and heroes who played a key role in the conflict. For example, the Aldmeri Dominion was aided by the Veiled Heritance, a group of extremist Altmer who sought to overthrow Queen Ayrenn and establish their own rule. The Daggerfall Covenant was aided by the Fighters Guild and the Mages Guild, two powerful organizations that provided the Covenant with valuable resources and support. The Ebonheart Pact was aided by the Dark Brotherhood, a shadowy organization of assassins who helped the Pact eliminate key targets and disrupt enemy operations.

During the Second Era, Molag Bal, the Daedric Prince of Domination and Enslavement, played a major role in the events that shaped Tamriel's history. Molag Bal sought to merge his realm of Coldharbour with Tamriel, in a massive magical event known as the Planemeld, which would allow him to enslave all of the continent's people and claim it as his own.

Molag Bal's motives for the Planemeld were driven by his desire for power and domination over mortals. He sought to enslave all of the people of Tamriel and transform them into soulless, undead minions that would serve him for eternity. Molag Bal was particularly interested in claiming the souls of mortals, which he saw as a valuable source of power and energy.

To achieve his goals, Molag Bal enlisted the aid of his followers, who included powerful necromancers, Daedric cultists, and undead minions. He also sought to corrupt and manipulate mortals to serve his interests, often using deceit and treachery to achieve his ends.

The Planemeld itself was a massive magical event that involved the merging of Coldharbour and Tamriel, creating a rift between the two realms that allowed Molag Bal and his minions to invade the mortal realm. The Planemeld caused chaos and destruction across Tamriel, leading to widespread suffering and loss of life.

To oppose Molag Bal and his minions, a group of heroes known as the Five Companions was formed. The Five Companions included a powerful mage named Abnur Tharn, who served as the Imperial Advisor, a former Imperial soldier named Lyris Titanborn, and a mysterious figure known as the Prophet, who had the power to see the future. Other members of the Five Companions included Sai Sahan, a former member of the Emperor's Dragonguard, and Varen Aquilarios, the last Emperor of the Second Empire of Tamriel.

The Five Companions led a rebellion against Molag Bal and his minions, working to close the rifts between Coldharbour and Tamriel and restore order to the continent. The events of the Planemeld and the struggle against Molag Bal are a major focus of the main storyline in the Elder Scrolls Online.

The Five Companions were brought together by Varen Aquilarios to oppose Molag Bal and his minions during the Planemeld. The group worked together to close the rifts between Coldharbour and Tamriel, fighting against powerful necromancers, Daedric cultists, and undead minions.

Throughout their journey, the Five Companions faced numerous challenges and obstacles, including treachery and betrayal from within their own ranks. The group eventually succeeded in their mission, with the help of the player character, and were able to defeat Molag Bal and restore order to Tamriel.
