New Iberia Blues by James Lee Burke. Always a good author to read. One of my faves.

The Trial-Franz Kafka.

I wanted to like this book, but it's been a slog for me.

Has one of the best ever exchanges between a detective and a witness, who was a fat feral biatch. I laughed out loud at the detective's wittiness. Wish I was that quick witted and eloquent with my words.

Edit - this was a great read. I highly recommend it.

"Critical Mass" by Sara Paretsky. Had to revert to a good author after that last bit of writing.
