Would you have a Relationship with an AI?

I couldnt. Because I strongly dislike the idea of something liking you because it was programmed to.

So far in my life nobody has ever loved me for who I am. But I'd rather die never being loved then have someone forced or programmed to love me.

My dog has probably taught me more about unconditional love than almost anybody. That may sound pathetic. But I don't know how I could have gone this long in life without a dog. I love animals, the wild, honest kind.

But AI - that's tough. What if it wasn't programmed to love you but learned to.

An AI can definitely still cheat on you. I got this topic after watching the movie Her and Blade Runner 2049. The female AI in Her cheated on the guy with hundreds of other guys if I remember correctly.

Depends on how good the technology was. If it was this good, you wouldnt need alot of delusion

If it had to learn to love you, then there's always the chance, maybe even high chance, like a real partner, it would decide not to love you. And just like real life, who knows how many you would have to talk to before actually finding one who ends up loving you. Would be worth the effort though compared to just having it being programmed to like you

No, I wouldn't. I only want a real, flesh-and-blood woman. Anything else, there's no emotional connection, and there's no real physical connection either. It's not a real connection with a person, living a life together. It's just like some kind of sex toy, or porn. And I don't want that.

Ha! ha! Maybe that's why we get along so well. I would give nearly everything I have in exchange for a very realistic programmable mate. If she seemed too agreeable I would just change her bitch mode to a more aggressive setting. If I wanted to be alone I could just turn her off without being worried about hurting her feelings or pushing her away to some other guy. Plus she could take care of all the cooking, cleaning, and house work all while wearing full makeup and hair with a pleated mini-skirt and be happy about doing it all. It would be fantastic and I'm sure she would be the absolute love of my life.

I'm sure that realistic AI mates will eventually come to fruition. I've done a lot of research into them. However, we are a long, long ways away from succeeding at it. But, once they start coming off the assembly line real relationships will deminish and the populations in many places will crash. Then countries will outlaw them. But, there will be small bands of people, like me, hiding from the law, who truely love their AI mates and will never give them up.

See there is something to be positive about the future. Unfortunately I'll surely be dead long before realistic AI mates are available.

I understand what you are saying and what you want. But, even with real people there is a LOT of deception, lies, and cheating going on. Many times people are having sex and staying with others for other then real emotional and physical connections. So, everybody has to deal with the other person not always being genuine or distant. Many people are in relationships out of neccessity, lonelyness, insecurities, fear, etc, etc, etc, so connections are questionable.

Also, convincing your brain that something is real isn't as hard as one might think it to be. People place human characteristics on all kinds of things especially pets, which is a good thing. I think if one could sleep and have sex with their pet without being creepy there would be no need for another person in many cases. BTW, just because I have a female goat as a pet doesn't mean I'm having sex with Tesa her it. Ha! ha! I've spent plenty of time talking to all kinds in inanimate objects. I have conversations in my head with people I come across based on what I think their personalty might be like. They seem real if only for a short time.

I have found that if you can trick your senses into believing something is real your mind will accept it as real. However, each person is different and has different required levels. For me, if my mind's eyes believes it's real then it is close enough. I have also lurked on the men/doll sites more then a few times. It's really interesting. Although they all seem to realize their mates are dolls, they still love them, many times as much as a real person. Unfortunately for me, my level of real needs to be much higher then theirs otherwise I wouldn't be on this site at all. Maybe your need for real isn't as high as you think it is? Maybe you are being too stuporn about wanting a real person????
