What does it mean to be completely alone? I have come to the conclusion It is to be deprived of everything that makes us human... Having a place to interact and improve the lives of others, having family and friends around you, having a place where you belong, someone that loves you, and a sense of purpose and fulfillment. The one who is truly cut off has none of these things. Though they live, they might as well not exist at all.

1) No place for the Outcast: always the outsider looking in, but sometimes the inside is so very cold, perverse, and evil, I just turn away glad I wasn't involved. These days I get that feeling way too much. I wander about in the meadow of meaningless forever wondering if things will ever change. In my thoughts I fantasize about the medieval past and the distant future, but never the present: a cold world ruled by the satanic illuminati slowly but surely turning robotic and inhuman, a time when nothing is fair and wickedness is everywhere. The more of it you see, the more there is to oppose, and the more you oppose the more lonely. Sometimes even a dead end job would be better then a 24/7 prison of gold. This level of solitude is known only by hermits that live alone in the woods. Even prisoners occassionally move about or deal with inmates. Prisoners get food and water, and spent all day thinking. They are removed from being able to participate in the hectic stress filled world of work.

2) The lonely outcast with no family: Add to the 24/7 prison environment a scenario where all blood relatives, whom you could relate to and talk to, died, in a way to which you blame yourself, and the only one left is a stepgrandfather whose old and really doesn't get you at all, and all he does all day is watch TV. Everyday its supper at 4 PM, hardly ever go anywhere, almost never after dark, from 10pm onwards I've got the whole house to myself.

3) No one loves the loner: The loner is cut off, cursed, betrayed, abandoned. Looking for love is just as pointless as looking for a job, the way things are today. It used to be considered normal to cling to one person, love them, and marry them. Now the norm is that sex is everywhere, porn is becoming more and more acceptable in public. As early as the 1950s, there were videos of Elvis Presley considered too obscene and he wasn't even naked. All sorts of perverse lifestyles are the norm now, marriage rates are at all time low. People are either sluts or if they can't face what they really are, go from person to person and feel less sluty. They only stay with someone long enough for the initial feelings to wear off, then it's time to change and update just like every other consumer product in our fast faced information age. Women got more of what we consider rights, meanwhile all of our rights are being stripped away, wages suck, laws become more and more oppressive. Finding a job and finding a suitable mate were not meant to be such an F-ing nightmare. Nothing but more and more bullshit. No resolution for the imbalance between men and women. Women get their pick of men for the most part, unless some kind of job politics are involved. And the men who get them are okay with betrayal, for they are players, or else they get heart broken and wind up alone like me. The players are the most likely to be handsome, skilled, and are the types that are good with average people, pick-up lines, etc. Subtlety is the name of the game. People just go right on living in their own busy tunnel vision reality accepting tiny steps in the wrong direction. How evil does it need to get before we take notice? There is more wickedness with each passing generation.

4) The cut-off loner wonders why God hates him: He sees corruption, lies, and hypocrisy in his churches and religions enough to where he forms a very unique perspective in his quest for truth. In the Bible being cut-off from ones people is considered a severe punishment, often for witchcraft. Yet we see those who sincerely practice the dark arts have wealth, power, prestige, friends, lovers, all the while whoever would be "righteous" is considered some kind of old fashioned wuss who judges the rest of the world and that no one wants to hang out with. The whole world is upside down and yet still I take the time to consider my own selfish affairs. Surely I am cursed, abandoned, forsaken, deprived of all meaningful contact, sentenced to a life of limbo, to an existence that might as well not exist, with all power removed and drained by the elite, functioning as a cog in a system right out of George Orwell's 1984, where the goal is to completely destroy the concept of family, replaced with internet collectivity, and total slavery. Worst of all is that this life of loneliness cuts right to the core, even to the point of cuting one off in their spiritual relationship to the divine. Surely the loner fools himself if he does not look up and think of a God that must hate him, abandon him, and for all the wickedness in the world, its no wonder many don't believe there is a God at all, certainly not one that is good. How should one treat a God who rewards the wicked and punishes the good, constantly, then when the world is sufficiently evil he'll have excuse to wipe us all out. What praise does such a God deserve? And yet shall it not be given a great virtue to yet love and believe, after all what else does the hopeless loner have to look forward to? Though he seem no better then a dirty rag, it is still his last ray of hope...

5) Turning Inward: The only thing thats left really, is ones own imagination. A life of dreaming and fantasizing that becomes so real, where the real world is so empty, that one completely forgets he is a person at all and becomes completely caught up in his fantasies, video games, etc. Such hi tech joy is really the only thing that keeps people from going completely crazy. Were it not for our televisions, video games, cellphones, etc we might have to actually face reality and deal with whats going on in the real world. Of course if you get enough people tuned out it becomes impossible to deal with it even if one is awake. The ancient world knew of no such luxuries, except ones imagnation, but if you spend enough time just thinking and thinking, and struggling against the enviroment where you have no technology, all the more reason people needed to rely on one another and how that houses and classes were far more important and significant, and in many cases a lot more brutal too. Where we take the time to really think and feel we become much deeper. The main problem with everyone today is shallowness. Not enough deep thinkers, not enough deep feelers, just a busy shallow existence of popularity, politics, and whatever the next thing is. It truly lacks all depth and meaning. Meaningless and mindless is the new entertainment. Just be as off the wall as possible. Just look at how retarded shows like Family Guy are. All intended to dumb us down, the popular food and drink, intended to shorten our meaningless lives and kill us. Medical expenses, intended to be ridiculously high so we work even harder or can't afford it. And all things unfair, happen and if you don't like it too bad. It really burns me to up to know even all I have is in the end doing just what they want us to do. Turning Inward. The effect of all of this, where no one dares trust anyone; a vicious cycle pure wrong that can only create more wrong, until we hit rock bottom.

You should get over here and we could have iced herbal tea (I'll refrain from coffee for your sake) and chat. Bet we could have lots of good arguments :) not necessarily because I win :D

I agree with most of the reasoning except Im an atheist , and nothing is new under the sun. panem et circenses > cheap food and entertainment keeps the masses calm

Humour however may be the lonely persons saviour and weapon. Family guy has it non down dumbing fantastic moments methinks.

Uhm you should look up Kinsey's studies. We are not decaying in sexual morality, the sexuality has always been there.

Also, I'm not sure where you are coming from when you say women have the pick of males.

The women where I come from certainly have the pick of males lol. But that's cause some males will do anything to anything that'll let em' If you get my drift. That said, handsome men can have a nice choice of women at times. Works both ways ^_^

It looks like you're overthinking Phae.

The world's messed up... there isn't that much we can do about it.

Yeah you're right. Plus stuff is way more complicated then one mans ability to rant. I started with an idea showing the effect of deep and continual loneliness and wound up turning it into a rant. Sophia is right too, my rant at best goes back to puritan America, give or take a few hundred years, but the more ancient you get the more wars, messed up laws, and strange religious cults having orgies. In a lot of ways the worst parts are over. Dark times full of ignorance, virgin sacrifice, stuff like that. Well there are those who carry on those traditions even today, but not like it was, and I think most of us are more civilized now. Again, it's just way too complicated to get a full idea and see it all at once. The world is what it is, I'd like to see it better, I do what I can in the struggle against tyranny and the utter defilement of humanity by the power elite. I think if we don't we'll wait up tomorrow and it'll be just like the Matirx: humans grown and used like batteries to power some new electrical AI. Thats the future they want to create, those who say humans are a virus, all we do is consume resources and breed. It's only that way because they make it that way. We have the science now that we can create more resources, even if it means the japanese caca steaks. We can stop harming the earth, whats holding back scientific progress is the economy. All new inventions would put someone out of business. The whole thing is going to fall apart, sooner or later, and then boom, we enter the future, 30+ years advanced technologies held back suddenly become available, all that good stuff. lol, no more ranting. I only set out to illustrate the negative effect of total and continual loneliness in all of the important areas of life.

Some very, very insightful word, Phaedron -and hit home for me a lot. The way I see it, if I choose to tell a lie, since I am alone, then it won't be such a sucker punch to the gut when I find out about the lie. Also, I can't really cheat on myself, now can I? lol

missguided, I love your paradoxical name. I'm half tempted to say marry me, lol

Oh and Wasn't it the swan and the scorpion? First time I've seen it with a frog...

All I know is, if the serpent gives up his subtlety and the dove learns to love wisdom, they can become a beautiful winged serpent...
Then the lion will marry the lamb and the enmity will be gone, the Lord shall be one, and all will live happily ever after forever...

lol ty Phaedron, the name came to mind easily, unfortunately.

idk, i'd always heard the frog/scorpion, Sunday school teacher used to tell us the story when I was a kid.

love your last line, very true!

Yes, are you miss guided or misguided? I'd say we're all a little of both...

lol, I also like names that synchronize with paradox. I made one that combines six different words: Phairaodoxiseonix ( Pharaodox Pairadice Phariseonix) (Pair, Paradox, Paradise, Pharoah, Pharisee, Phoenix) Pairodoxice (Paradise, Paradox)

I think the swam may have been more classical. The white swam is like a water bound dove, which carries the scorpion (also can be a reference to satan or serpents) on it's back, but the scorpion kills her halfway. In this manner the whole pyramid is built on the backs of the common people, which they few elite rule over, and orchestrate their wars, depopulation, etc, so we see this scenario playing out all throughout history.

The serpents guard esoteric wisdom, but they also have a kind of pragmatic wisdom. Like if you see a free sample cart they might take all 50 and consider themselves wise for doing so, or they might murder someone if it seems like a wise and prudent thing to do. This perfectly describes the corruption of power and the burden of kings, or kings advisors and such. (There was a real brotherhood of the snake)

While the doves are free to fly, and generally harmless, but have been lied to and manipulated to believe just about anything, and tend to live normal lives rather then spend all day thinking and studying with an open mind. I think this is part of the original enmity in the garden. A serpent that slithers on the ground having lost it's wings must sneak up on it's target and go for the kill.

Hmm.... Much to ponder over.
Kinda like those physicists who hang out with each other, hashing out varied phenomena.
Yes, I'm sure that even Albert E. pondered over such a thing as complete loneliness. 

being lonely is different from feeling lonely. U cna feel lonely in a crowd.
I feel lonely because - I have no one to talk to, no one to hang out with, no friends
but i dont know if I am lonely, because i have my family.
