I did an expensive experience....

I have wasted money with 6 different fortune-tellers (tarot card readers) in the last 8 days. I asked each of them the very same question, a querstion regarding something about my health... All the 6 tarot-readers said "yes, you are going to overcome this health problem"...

If clairvoyance does not exist, then they all told me the same lie, which would be a big coincidence.

Or do clairvoyants just tell us what we would like to hear from them?

Put aside the possibility that they really have super-natural powers... Do you think they will all just say what they think we want to hear from them?

Or do you think it was just a big coincidence that they all aswered the same thing to me?

With what you describe, i don't think it has to be a choice between clairvoyance or coincidence.

It could be something as simple as 'a happy customer is more likely to be a repeat customer'.

Like seemingly everybody else in life, there just trying to make money out of you. So I would imagine they told you what you wanted to hear in a effort to please you - or to prove that they can forsee the future.

I don't really belive in fortune telling or anything of that nature, To me I think it's all fake and put on and a illusion of sorts that convinces some people minds into thinking it's real. Anything can happen in life, things change and unpredictable things happen in a instant, and I feel you just can't predict life with such ease and precision.

I have to ask, surely wasting your money on six different fortune tellers wasn't a wise idea? Didn't you get the hint after the first few fortune tellers told you the exact same thing.

I don't believe in tarot or reading bones or whatever.

But I do think that it's possible that some people have heightened senses or perhaps the ability to perceive signals that are beyond the rest of us. I don't see how that would help with tarot or anything, though, unless the person uses their "special senses" to cheat the cards and get a reading that makes things work in their favor.

Tarot = fun to mess around with when bored but not take too seriously.

Mostly all fortune tellers are liars. They tell you what they think you want to hear and their answers are always non-specific. Did any of them tell you how you're going to get over your health issue? When? With who's help?

But I do believe some people have actual heightened senses that are mainly based on strong empathy. Usually people who actually have a "gift" don't go around charging other people money for it because it's too random and they can't turn it on the moment someone plants $20 on the table.

It's interesting to think about the people who might possibly have special powers in this world, powers that can look into the future and predict events waiting to happen, psychics, people who can contact the dead, etc. While I don't belive in any of this, it's fascinating to watch or read or hear stories about these subjects and it attracts a wide amount of attention and speculation.

Also for all the non-belivers (including myself) do ever thing that some of these things may actually be real? Stories that really catch my eye are people who make predictions about events hundreds of years ago and the predictions have come true. People like the famous Nostradamus really interest me, whether you belive he claims or not.

If I had any skill with conning people, I'd probably set up a fortune-telling store.

But I guess it doesn't require any skill with tarot or whatever. I could just wear a big robe and keep my hood down and mumble a lot, using an "interpreter" to speak my words of wisdom gained from insight into another plane of existence.

YES, my plan is coming together! :D

Anybody looking for work as an interdimensional interpreter?

I believe sensitive people are more prone to premonitions and that type of thing. Of course that has nothing to do with card readers or psychics. I am sorry to agree with most of the people who have responded to your post because I sense that is not what you were hoping to hear but I de believe that fortune tellers are a bunch of bolonie and they use a bit of psychology to give you the answer you are looking for. But hey! if their answers helped you believe and gain hope about your recovery, then you have invested your money well because if you believe it you will achieve it!! :)

Meh, I wouldn't put much stock in card readers. Even if you happen to meet a genuine one the information will never be so specific that it would actually be helpful. Yes, I believe in clairvoyance but there are ten charlatans for every real one. However, our future is rarely set-in-stone, so, as I imagine, a clairvoyant can only tell you the variant that is most likely to happen based on your current choices and what choices you're most likely to make, it's probably seen clearer than other possibilities, but it is not what will necessarily happen.

And in some cases, people may put so much belief in whatever the fortune-teller told them that it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

What really pisses me off in the whole story, I only seeked for a nutrologist to help me with giving me a diet for me to follow while I do my excercises... And she had the guts to say I should NOT do excersies without some doctor allowing me to... God, I have been doing the same exercises since like last January and I didn't die... But she FORCED me to go give my money to a Cardiologist, who on his turn made me spend a lot of money with useless examinations...

To be fair, the nutritionist did not FORCE you to see the Cardiologist. It was always your option to figure out that this nutritionist was giving a bone to the cardiologist and NOT GO see the cardiologist. It's not like anyone put a gun to your head and made you go see the doc.

Why didn't you just start working out on your own? There's not even a need to see a nutritionist, though that is your option. There's enough info online to devise one's own nutrition plan and exercises... no need to waste the money on "specialists."

Here's a hint, for future reference. When doctors/trainers/nutritionists don't particularly want your business (or they want deniability in case something goes wrong with you), they pass you around like a hot potato to be sucked dry by every other "specialist" in their rolodex. Seriously.

Hi,
I definitely believe in fortune telling, especially palm reading. Fortunately the astrologer has always given positive feedback after studying my palm lines, and the things he tell me are almost near to truth. I am loving this art and have also started research work on it.
Cheers!!

In my twenties I made the mistake of letting someone read my palm.
The palm reader told me that I would spend my life alone.
Tomorrow I will be 53. Still alone.

I experienced many events in my life that cant be explained away by logic.

I'v also had a dream come true. Usually I dont remember my dreams
but onetime I woke up remember seeing myself sitting a place Ive never been N doing things Ive never done. 6 months later I was sitting in that place and doing those things. At first I thought it was deja voo Then I remember or recalled having that dream. K...so how did my mind generated
all those images of places and things I never saw before hand?

K...so over 20 years ago I had my palms read at a country fair.
I thought it was just a joke or entertainment.
The palm reader had a crazy look in her eyes.(of shock N terror)
Thats was a hell of a thing...

These were her words to me.
" Family, friends N the world will come between you N her. Try not to worry. She will come back to you. You will also own a business and die a rich O man. You will never starve even when things get tough. Don't give up. Be strong. I know you love her "

K...so how in the fresia did she know I was going through some crazy honeysuckle in my life @ that time. I lost my GF (Renae)which I never thought I would see again.I also moved 2000 miles away. I was only 18 and pretty much scared shitless about everything. My heart was very broken though I tried not to show it. I never told any of those things about myself. I was @ a country fair just having fun.

K...Renae is sleeping next to me tonight. We got back together after all these
years.
Yeah, the fucken world N everything in it came between she N I.

The odds of us both still being alive after all these years..after all the honeysuckle we both lived through. And the chances of her finding me and taking whatever actions it takes to be with me.
Its more than a million to one.

Its like we both never stopped loving each other and we should had done
all this stuff when we were young and both wanted from the very start.
I cant explain it.
