It's nice to find this place & to be here!

My background is of social awkwardness, I've found it difficult to form friendships. Because of that I've been through a long time feeling desperately alone, which has taken a lot of soul searching to deal with.

A big part of life has been about learning to feel comfortable in my own skin, about learning to be confident, stepping out of comfort zones & really finding out who I am by challenging myself to break through the things that have always seemed to hold me back, to understand them, things like being introverted & having anxiety.

Along the way I've learned that I can be happy as a lone wolf. Life now is more about finding Mrs Wolf & finding real happiness, I hope!

Hiya, and welcome. :)

I have found my Mr Wolf and am very happy, with the exception of my biologically inherited depression that comes out in very bleak spells sometimes. but that is completely unrelated to him. He's amazing, and I hope you can experience the same companionship one day soon. In the meantime, focus on yourself as you said and I'll always be here too.

Thank you for the welcomes everyone! :)

Glad you hear you are very happy with someone you adore so much. :)
And thank you for the warm sentiment, I do hope so.

Remember you can always get out for some fresh air & exercise when things get bad. I try to keep the saying "healthy body, healthy mind" in my awareness, which helps a lot. It can have a very healing effect to act on that.

Fresh air can do wonders, and I miss the basic walks I used to do years ago before I moved abroad. Unfortunately, here I struggle with the humid climate. I have no idea how this city even functions during the summers. But, we have plans to move in January to somewhere more bearable for my British blood. LOL

You know a place is hot when even the Indians and local aussies say they don't get used to it. XD

I remember starting on that journey. I think my anxiety is caused by people who have demonstrated that they don't want me to take that road. People have been trained to compete for resources. Maybe they don't want me in their game. I never had any intention of joining the rat race. It may be that because I have worth, people want me to feel worthless. I met another sensitive person the other day. I felt him as if he were me. I caught sight into how we're manipulated. He was a customer. Perhaps I'll talk to him again. He was very bright.

I agree that it can be a very damaging thing to have the weight of the expectations of others on one's shoulders, that's where some of my anxiety stems from.

I think that anxiety fades with time (admittedly not completely) if one practices to socialise or face what provokes anxiety.

Welcome to the forum. :)

Finding the incentive to get out of comfort zone and state of stagnation is a big progress in itself. Being active and liking what you do on your own helps blocking troubling thoughts and then it's the time to draw social side of life to yourself and activities you enjoy. Good luck!
