Life is too short. If they don't miss you back then they aren't really worth missing.

I guess you have to keep reminding yourself that you can't do anything to change whatever it was that made them do that.

It's painful but it's best to put the past in your rear view mirror. Whatever happened is done and over. We all are a work in progress. We make mistakes along the way. Some people come and go in our lives. Hopefully you have learned something during that time about life or yourself and that makes you a better person going forward to find happiness and meet new people.

It really sucks. But you gotta make up your mind.. either there's a way to fix whatever went wrong.. or more probably it's better just to endure and eventually it will be hurting less. Time doesn't heal and doesn't help you forget, at least not completely. And well.. dealing with the feeling of having been somewhat responsible (be it true or just in your mind) is no easy thing either.
True.. time fixes most of it. :)

You can only try to tell yourself that you won't make the same mistakes if given a similar opportunity again in the future. The best thing you can do now is to forgive yourself and the other parties involved and keep going forward. It does suck when that feeling of missing someone hits you. I tend to get all emo and listen or watch to emo stuff and cry it out. Perhaps doing something that helps you express or relieve this feeling for that moment might help you get by. *hugs*
