I had also recently used the American Consumer Credit Counseling Service, while making monthly payments, during a period of 4 years.
BTW- CREDITKARMA offers absolutely free credit scores and updates every 24 hours, with no payment method needed.
They also have ads all over their site, which supposedly pays for the services.
