"simple. you'll see one word at the top of the following page.
you have sixty seconds to write about it.
as soon as you click 'go' the page will load with the cursor in place.
don't think. just write."

So, I used to go to this site all the time before AP exams ate my brain. I've been getting back into it and thought I might share it with the rest of you.
It's an interesting exercise that I use to combat writer's block; you have a one word prompt and a minute to write about it, there's a million ways you could spin it but you only have sixty seconds to do so. It can get intense but it's a great site.

I'll post a few of mine to show how I spin it, I usually do poems but there's no limitations on format. I've seen stories, rants, whatever. I've even seen people just make up a dictionary definition for the prompt word (which was completely incorrect but quite entertaining).

One Word: Spaces
the space between
two halves of a single whole
the space we are born to fill
but in the end,
regardless of our nearness
we always seem to find
those spaces
between us
remain.

One Word: Stand
I stand
A mountain before these eyes
then you...

If ever I stood for something
I stood for everything

and then,
it meant nothing

your eyes
golden hued,
when all the world was watching
your eyes were all I saw

I lived forever in that moment but then,
you looked away.

One Word: Middle
I stand between them.
Like a wall, a barrier to divide.
I stand until the weight of their mutual longing waxes full.
I stand until I fall.
I stand, in the middle ground.
The meeting ground.
I stand until the weight of these two hemispheres,
these two worlds,
drag me down.
I fall, in that waning hour I fall beneath their feet.
I live in the moments between,
that blessed middle ground,
and at the end I am breathless.

Its pretty fun:)

Chess
Rooks and knights all galloping across the board, the scheming bishops, the regality of the king and the elegance of the queen

Bliss

I'm guessing they only do one word day? because they kept trying to give me chess again
