Solo mini-vacations

So I'm looking to explore this vast USA a bit more by taking some small trips by air. Does anyone have good suggestions on places to visit? I don't want to have to drive, so places with good public transit and uber car type services are ideal.

I would check out Amtrak. See where the stops are and look into public transit. Most of the cities where there's a station have buses, I think you'd have to check on the uber style taxis though.

Have you looked at local things? A lot of the time we overlook our local attractions.

I think there is a lot to do by yourself in Chicago. I like Museums, and going by myself is nice because I can take my time and read what I want and see the exhibits I want to see.
