Best part is, people think it's an actual pop song, and berate it, even parodying it.

But it's actually a parody song of pop music designed to mock how bad and pointless it is. So the parody songs are parodies of a parody.

(Ylvis also makes 'intelevator' youtube videoes where he pretends to be a multi-lingual elevator voice-comm and gets the car passengers to do unusual things, and is definitely worth a watch.)
