My life was perfect, i was happy, till today. We had today the most important soccer game and we didn't won it because of me(we had a draw game 1;1). The ball just accidentally bounced of my hand, then the opposite team got penalty and scored a goal. And now they all kinda hate me, including myself. It sucks. That game was really important. Why the hell had I screw it up? I can't stop thinking about it. I always expect myself to do all things correctly. Why did i have to make such a mistake now? I love football very much but i really dont go to the training. It would be even worse, if i wouldn't go. I hate to see them ignore me, life really sucks. I can't belive i blow my life up with like 1 minute. At the moment i feel really lonely and I truly hate myself.

well...I read your signature...

Sometimes..I find it best not to listen to myself :)

I love Fret Frave...he fucks up a lot..He lost many, many clucth games due to his actions
and decisions making...He is however a leader. He makes decisive decisions.
However you can see laughter and fun in his face when he plays football.
He gets up again and again after getting his ass knocked around, silly, and sometimes making a fool of himself.
One of the greatest quarterbacks of all times.

Micheal Jordan...man, i saw the dude made all kinds of stupid plays and lost many, many games
Micheal only has a 54% shooting average...far...far from perfect.

There's something bigger....bigger than the game itself.
The bigger game....
You win some and you lose some....
Winners get up after losts and never gave up on themsleves..

I love myself...I messed up alot :p
I'm beautiful...I'm staying true to me...
Sometimes...I have to tell my ego to get messed too...lol

Here...have a smile.:)

m'kay here is why it cannot possibly be just your fault:

football is a 11 vs. 11 match,

problem 1: if it was 1 - 1 before your mistake, your goalie and defence are to blame for letting in 1 previous goal
problem 2: the goalkeeper didn't save the penalty
problem 3: your strikers/ midfielders didn't score enough goals, its there job to score more goals
problem 4: if your telling the truth about what happened about the handball, this is ball to hand...meaning it was done involuntary...PLUS you need to say if it stops a clear goalscoring opportunity for the other team, if its not then you can blame to referee
problem 5: football is a TEAM game, you can be the greatest footballer on the planet, but if u can't work with your teammates, your nothing. you WIN together, your LOSE together, therefore its ALL your faults.
problem 6: if you got that once, your team can do it again...and besides, its not like you lost the world cup
problem 7: did your team give up as soon as they scored that goal to make it 2-1, if yes then they failed the team...not you, if no...unlucky
problem 8: the sport is football, it is the most unpredictable sport in the world, you can be 5-0 ahead and lose 6-5
final problem 9: okay you've lost..you cannot change that now...your out....you have critics/friends saying your crap and future isn't looking good.

your in the perfect position actually, the true elite players reflect on loses and humiliation and focus hard and train to become the best

if your serious about going professional in your country, nows the time to prove your good AND prove them wrong

i can give u thousands of footballers that have done this: david beckham, pele, maradona, theirry henry, peter crouch, peter scheimchel, etc.

think positivly about this, not negatively..else your in a cycle of uselessness

oh, and gimme some background on the game:

1. what position where u playing?
2. what formation were u playing?
3. what formation where the other team playing?
4. what were the defence doing whilst you handballed it?
5. who was favourites to win the match? you or them?

Don't worry it'll blow over soon :) and things will be back to normal. Only natural that the first reaction is of disappointment.

Besides, at least it wasn't an own goal. But many people screw up, even in the pro level sports. It's not the end of the world (with the exception of Andreas Escobar who was shot because he scored an own goal)

here look at some of these screw ups:

don't forget zinadean zidane
he lasts ever professional game, gets sent off for headbutting that stupid diving italien, and france lost on penalties

and he is frances penalty specialist

or you could be that stupid norweign referee that didn't give chelsea THREE (not 4..) penalties when they should of against barcalona.

or the stupid swiss referee that conned england out of a goal in euro 2004 making it go to penalties against portugal

all these situations make that ball to hand moment look pointless :p

Chelsea got knocked out because they got outplayed. Don't give me that bs that it was staged, etc. Barcelona was playing down a man for half of the match and they still managed to score. Proves that chelsea blew it themselves.

i sucked at soccer these things happen it's nothing personal

i understand you feel totally pissed at yourself i know that feeling well

but time will pass and eventually as the future brings more challenges and events this will seem less like a big deal

you're teammates should understand that it was an accident and a true friend will forgive you

i hope things get better

*hugs*

what 2nd leg were u watching?

im going to have to explain this arn't i ?
:(
yes the possesion statistic is good to have in your favour, but means fresia ALL in reality

barcalona had 1 shot

yes ONE shot in 90 minutes, whilst chelsea had about 10-ish
ok i'll atmit, great goal by ienesta(sp?) but when chelsea have domination in the 9/10 laws of football and conned out of 3 penalties, its not right

now don't get me wrong, i despise chelsea...and anyone who supports them..BUT i hate more of a fact that referee's fresia up, because they have lack of match experience like he did.
and chelsea didn't get that much outplayed, the 1st leg maybe but they were purposefully doing so for the away goals advantage...but drogba's crap so they lost the away goal advantage.

I had a similar experience when I was playing high school American football. We were down by three in the final minutes of the fourth quarter, and we came out of the huddle with a nifty trick passing play that we had practiced to perfection. And it worked! We covered seventy yards in one play, scored the touchdown, and pulled ahead. It was perfect! Except for the illegal man downfield (me), which is a penalty on a passing play. Touchdown doesn't count, yardage negated, penalty yards added on. Game lost.

That was one long bus ride home.

Even today, thirteen years later, I think back on that game, slap myself on the forehead and curse myself for a fool. Illegal man downfield. Stupid! But then I think, "was it really my fault?" The answer, like Van said, is no. American football and soccer are both team sports, and if the outcome of a game comes down to an inadvertent mistake made by a single player, that just means the team lost. If the team had done better during the rest of the match, then one little accident by one person wouldn't have had the impact that it did.

Also, I remind myself that it is just a game. In the big picture, in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter a bit. It may not seem like that now, but believe me, when a little time has passed, it will. By this time next year you'll be periodically slapping yourself in the forehead, cursing yourself for a fool, and then forgetting all about it in the next five minutes.

Chin up!

Well said, no one like chelsea so i agree with you there completely! lol.

But i don't agree with the penalties that you think they should've had.
The fist "controversial" call was a foul committed OUTSIDE the box.
Second call was a 9.0/10 for diving by drogba (like he always does).
Third one, ok it was a heandball, but not definately not deliberate. Refs don't call this MANY times, and i don't even know if the ref could've seen this one either. I mean tough luck, they're not the first team to not have this one called.
The last one, from the corner at the end of the game, that was clearly NOT a hand ball because it hit the Barca player just below the shoulder.

There is nothing for Chelsea to complain about. If you're relying on penalties to win a game, then you deserve to lose and they did. Though luck, not the refs fault. But at least chelsea did show the lack of class and composure at the end of the game, and made idiots out of themselves. BARCA #1!!!!!!

High five.Haha.Glad to see someone who likes football.

I remembered the many times that I was the goalkeeper in the team and I concede one critical goal((to be honest,it is any goals unless they are winning by a lot) during one of the casual plays. There was one times that one of my close friends yelled at me and I was like "wat the **** you doing?"I was devastated at that time because of the goal that I concede and what my close friend treat me.

Football is a really competitive game and things like this do happen.Cheers up because I believed that you have tried your best.
