A little help please

So my ex texted me the other day and said she had a dream about me. This from a woman who completely stopped talking to me and her last communication with me was a terse "Time to move on". We texted and instant messaged quit a bit that day and she said simply, "she wanted to talk to me". I told her I would email her from time to time and let her know how I was doing but I wouldn't call or text her unless she contacted me first. What I am asking you folks, is am I stupid for emailing or should I just let it go? She dropped me like a piece of trash and I know there is little chance of us getting back together anytime soon. Am I wasting my time or am I being reasonable?

Knowing myself, I would reply. Try to keep some distance for your own sanity, though.

I would judge this by the amount of time it had been since she last contacted me. Anything over about 1.5-2 weeks?....

Something seems weird about that. I'd avoid her if she dumped you on a whim.
