Music is VERY important to me, I gave up the paintbrush for it, as I see it as the ultimate art form, creating imagery, thoughts, sounds, feelings, and relaxation.

haha maybe.

What do you guys listen to?
Do any of you guys play an instrument, and if so what about a band? Link me to them if you play in it!!!!!

Yeah.. I guess so. I can string those 12 notes in different combinations on my guitar
Yeap..scales are like colors to me.
The axis ptich system is kind of like different shade of those colours..

I can play the drums. Not enough hours put in...for me to be very good @ it..but I can do 5-6 different types of rock beat.

Moving to Reno..will see what gose from there...Opprotunity for me to play in a band for local nightclubs or casinos...

Renae wants me to play again.

fresia it..maybe I'll just Shreading on a bass so I can easily get into a band.:p

2 of my HS buddies I used to jam with...One of them is in a will known Metal band..the other one is cyurrently touring europe...
Im the one thats lagging it out of the bunch...
The irony is...the suckies dude out of the bucnh is playing for that will know metal band...lol

You've got yourself a pretty good taste in music, there. I like several of those bands as well, and many of the rest I've listened to at least at some point.

I don't play any instrument, but music is one of the most important things in my life. My taste can be viewed at last.fm/user/Martta.

I play guitar and pennywhistle, a bit of recorder and clarinet & am teaching myself keys.

Some of my playing here. :)

Great!!!
I can't wait to check out the music here, I have to wait, as I can only use a computer at school given my current situation.

Awesome SkuzzieMuff(?) haha, The Residents are so awesome in a disgustingly weird type way, its kinda strange to find someone else who's into that avant garde stuff.

Blackwave, funkymonkey and Zeek, Im going to check out your music as soon as I can okay! I really am interested.

Lonesome Crow, what band doe sthat guy play in? Im going to laugh if it really is something strangely popular, because his origin is so mundane haha. Also its sort of fun getting really good at guitar, then playing bass as if it is one, and then bassists find you annoying, but guitarists think you rule at bass! haha.

Thanks Stepchild! Your music taste pretty much rules my socks.
There are like 4500 artists in there haha.

Yep i play the guitar, completely devoted to music and have been learning with dedication for about 8 years. I am also in a band. I like all styles but my forte's are Metal/Rock and fingerpicking style on the acoustic.

I have a few videos on my youtube http://www.youtube.com/rdbeast and it lists some of my fav bands too on my channel. Unfortuanatly i have a £10 webcam at the moment so it really isnt the best device to record videos with and no electric guitar videos up yet.

I might like quite a few of them without realizing it, but I only recognize a couple on that list as bands I actually like. The Beatles and Iron and Wine.

What do you guys listen to?
Many different things. Some of my favorite stuff at the moment: Alela Diane, Ben Sollee and Daniel Martin Moore, Regina Spektor, Derek Webb, Swell Season, Coldplay, Muse, Carly Simon, Yael Naim, Leeland, Emiliana Torrini, Cranberries, Pearl Jam, Ingrid Michaelson, Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Dave Matthew Band, David Crowder Band, Matisyahu.

And then stuff I listen to on occasion: country, jazz/big band/swing, classical(and by "classical" I mean everything from Gregorian Chants to Rachmoninoff), Celtic(and by "celtic" I mean Enya/Celtic Woman stuff... or bagpipes).

Do any of you guys play an instrument, and if so what about a band? Link me to them if you play in it!!!!!
I play acoustic guitar. No bands.

I find your lack of evanescence to be of great disapoint

but all in all some good stuff,

I've been playing the gutiar for a couple years now, but I'm still not as good as I would like to be, never found a band to play in either

Have played drums and guitar, like music a lot, especially metal.

I play the harmonica and I sing. Always wanted to be in a band but unfortunately, I have a lot less confidence then I would like, and therefore, don't often sing in front of others.
Your choice of bands sounds pretty cool. I am never up on any of the newer bands, and as consequence, am unfamiliar with many of the bands listed. I may perhaps enjoy them greatly, and will search some of them up on youtube for research purposes.

Bass, drums, and trumpet - however, all of the instruments have been collecting dust for about 15 years or more in the attic.

My roommates from 1988 to 1991 played guitar in college and we use drive our neighbors nuts playing really loud into the wee hours in the morning. LOL

Played in a church band from 1991 to 1996 in which we played 70s & 80s rock and roll. o_O

We probably should not have been playing about 60% of our inventory now that I think about it, but it was still fun playing in front a couple of thousand people at times.

Thats quite a list I've picked out these that i have on my Ipod

Animal Collective, MGMT, Syd Barrett, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Blockhead, Devendra Banhart, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Flaming Lips, Grizzly Bear, The Horrors,The Jesus and Mary Chain, Joy Division, Modest mouse, New Order, Nick Drake, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Spacemen 3, The Verve, The Velvet Underground, The Zombies

I think Spacemen 3 became spiritualized so you should listen to lazer guided melodies if you haven't heard that. Looking at your list, I'd also recommend ..*checks Ipod* The Pixies, Pavement, the wedding present, Elliot Smith (Either Or), The shins, death in vegas, Doves, Eels, fleet foxes, bon ivor, the fall, the La's,the libertines (last great british band, imo),mercury rev (especially deserters songs),mogwai,my bloody valentine.
