Blog help

Hi!
I hope someone can help me..
As some of you know, I'm going away soon for a long time.
I will most likely have limited internet access, so I wanted to start a blog. Where I can keep a kind of diary of my trip, whenever I have access. And for people to send me messages too, if they like.

Well, the problem is, I'm not the smartest girl when it comes to stuff like this...
Anyone know a good place to make a blog? And also care to explain to me how to make one?

I have one more question, probably silly for those who knows this...
But can people send me private things on there? Or will everything people send me there be shown as public?

I think I managed to make one, on wordpress...
It's not good yet, but I'm getting help making it better.
