I fondly recall
The days of my youth
When there was but good and evil
A simpler time
Filled with adventure
Where every scratch seemed fatal
I remember leaping
Into the puddles
Left like gifts from the rain
Not caring one bit
About who would wash us
For mother didn't once complain
The whispering breeze
Lay open the secrets
Of tender mother earth
The babbling brooke
Revealed the treasure
Obscured within the dirt
Clandestine knowledge
That one day will enter
The vault of my young'uns mind
Muttered to him
By the kiss of the wind
Like gems to be refined...
