The sun was playing peek-a-boo
Hidden with the clouds
The children laughed and waged their wars
Grinning as peace was vowed
But on the far side of this playground
A different story is told
On with anguish, glory and triumph
Where punishment is doled
High upon the monkey bars
Is where my foe was perched
Waiting silent for his next victim
An innocent soul to hurt
Youn and stupid I was back then
I wandered aimlessly by
He swung his foot into my chest
My day had gone awry
I swung my sword in form of tears
And wailed until I heard
The crunching steps upon the gravel
Of a mother to scold her heir
She took one look and assumed the worst
Wrought by her own son
As she dragged him away, deaf to his cries
I knew that I had won
Hidden with the clouds
The children laughed and waged their wars
Grinning as peace was vowed
But on the far side of this playground
A different story is told
On with anguish, glory and triumph
Where punishment is doled
High upon the monkey bars
Is where my foe was perched
