The angel was lost in love...

In giving in to hearts desire,
She cast her wings with little ire
With mind at peace, and heartbeat calm
Behold them, lifeless, in her palms.

She fell from far above...

A torrent through the sky and clouds
and stripped bare of her holy shroud
She plunged to ground, so dark and cold
Forsaking warmth and light of old.

Collided with the earth...

A remnant of once holy light
protected her from earthly plight
But light must fade and dissipate
The fallen left to mortals fate.

Of love, what is it worth...

In finding self upon the land
where love had called her, stretching hand
Evading rest, and set to start
the odyssey, engraved in heart.

Kind of reminds me of that movie, City of Angels, with Nicholas Cage and Meg Ryan in it. Such a sad one.

As you know, I'm not into the rhyming poems myself, but you do them really well! :)

Haha rhyming poems are hard to be satisfied with. I'm not sure if I ever want to get back into them.
